What is the role of an End of Life Consultant/Doula?
End-of-life doulas provide holistic, non-judgmental, non-medical support to those nearing the end of life. They empower men and women to consider what a “good death” means to them and then support them as they seek that “good death”. They encourage those with life-ending illness to make the most of their last years, months, weeks, or days, so they can pass in peace. They also support the friends and family of the dying. I have had experience with helping the dying peacefully pass including my past husband in 2023.
My first experience was my grandfather whose head was in my lap in 1994. I knew then, at 24 yrs old, that I had a gift not everyone has. And have been called numerous times to sit with their family and help with their loved ones with a peaceful passing. And to assist in getting the after-death arrangements taken care of.
